A Creative Venue and Audio Video System for Religious Services in Wynwood
Nestled in a midtown Miami neighborhood, a middle school auditorium gets a complete makeover every Sunday when Vous Church fills its sanctuary and delivers three unique services. They combine scripture, sermons, baptisms, and live music performances choreographed by a high-energy team of audio and video professionals. The stage is set with a state of the art sound system, mood lighting, and high definition live and recorded video projection encouraging worshipers to be inspired. Participants can watch the pastor and musical performers or the video screens, whatever moves them most.
Led by charismatic Pastor Rich Wilkerson Jr, the congregation gathers in Miami’s Wynwood district, an area filled with art galleries, hip stores, and restaurants. The pulpit is a large stage with three custom framed screens and multiple cameras that follow Pastor Rich, his guests, and the musicians and dancers during the live music portions of the creative and spiritual services.
Midtown Video VP, Fernando Iglesias met with Vous Church (short for Rendezvous, a young people’s service Rich hosted at Trinity Church) to determine the scope of work and focus for the multimedia religious ceremonies. To integrate the audio-visual system already in use, Fernando designed and installed new components including two Christie Projectors, each with custom enclosures. Sony cameras are controlled through SMPTE fiber cable from the CCUs now located in a mobile video production rack that is easily moved when services are over. Camera recording and playback is handled by a Video Devices Pix 250i. All signals are routable through an AJA KUMO router and a FOR-A Hanabi switcher was added for video. This compact, rugged system with a purpose is stirring up the congregants of Vous Church all day on Sunday.
