Macy’s Debuts New Store Format in Southlake, TX – and Midtown Video was there to make the experience work.

Midtown Video designed, engineered, installed and trained Macy’s staff on the following:

  • Background audio system, allowing Macy’s to play themed music in 5 different zones of the store
  • Event room with Projector and wireless microphones for presentations
  • Automated control system to minimize the need for technical operation (simplified interfaces)

From the news coverage on this new retail concept: “It’s no secret that brick and mortar retailers are having a hard time competing with online shopping, which is why companies are looking for new and innovative ways to drive foot traffic. Macy’s, which is known for it’s mall locations, rolled out a new concept in hopes of doing just that. ‘Market By Macy’s’ opened right in the middle of Southlake Town Square. “The Market is all about a social shopping space that celebrates community, discovery and convenience,” said Rachel Shechtman, Macy’s brand experience officer.

The Market has a cafe and bar, called ‘Herald.’ People can grab a bite to eat, coffee and even an alcoholic beverage.

The Market space will also serve as a place to host parties and events like cooking classes, book clubs, crafting and fitness classes.”
