Creating Inclusive & Collaborative Meeting Rooms
Recently, our AV experts at Midtown Video were fortunate to be involved in another project for HUMAN Security, a corporation with offices in Miami and Manhattan. This impressive cybersecurity defense platform safeguards organizations across every digital ecosystem from bots, fraud, and digital abuse and verifies over 20 trillion digital interactions weekly.
Our job was to upgrade several conference rooms with Crestron auto-tracking cameras and Neat technology.
Here, we’ll explore these upgrades and why top organizations implement these advanced systems.

Crestron’s Auto-Tracking Cameras for an Engaged Workforce
As the hybrid workforce expanded and the need for advanced video conferencing systems grew, a phrase began to surface: “Meeting Inequity.” It defines an issue that hybrid workers experience: the inability to fully participate, collaborate, and share ideas in remote meetings. Meeting equity is measured by the ability to engage and connect in a way that’s inclusive to all, no matter their location.
In response, industry leaders like Crestron looked for solutions. These solutions consisted of audio-video technology that helped remote participants feel like they were in the same room as on-site attendees. One such technology was Crestron’s 1 Beyond auto-tracking cameras.
1 Beyond
This project was particularly interesting as we deployed a pair of Crestron’s 1 Beyond auto-tracking cameras as separate inputs to their All-Hands Zoom Room. These rooms are designed to accommodate large events, such as an all-hands-on-deck company gathering.
Whereas a standard deployment would be to connect the cameras as a pair and allow them to auto-switch as well as auto-track, this setup allows users to choose which auto-tracking camera is active and when.
1 Beyond cameras offer intelligent framing, creating a more natural experience for your hybrid team. They adjust by anticipating behavior, ensuring everyone can be seen. These cameras aren’t just smart; they’re intelligent.
Neat: The Dominating Technology in Meeting Equity
We also installed Neat technology in several meeting rooms. With advanced AI, this video conferencing room technology enhances engagement and makes all attendees feel like they’re in the same room. These included:
Neat Bars: These all-in-one video conferencing solutions ensure crystal-clear communication and provide an engaging experience for all attendees. Containing intelligent audio and video machine learning capabilities, it continuously adapts to changing room conditions, from noises to lighting and the number of people in the room and their movements. Features like automatic framing and voice tracking create the impression of everyone being present, regardless of location.
Neat Bar Pro: One step above, Neat Bar Pro manages three large displays and provides unrivaled audio and video quality. It creates a natural and immersive meeting experience.
Neat Center: This technology was designed to enhance the remote workforce experience and solve meeting inequity. It keeps remote participants at the center of the conversation, framing people face-on to ensure everyone is heard and seen. Providing a 360-degree meeting experience and an omnidirectional mic array, remote attendees feel part of the discussion.
Neat Pads: These touchscreen controllers enable participants to start and join meetings quickly and share content.
Increasing Productivity with Sound Masking
As open-office environments became standard, reducing background noise, such as people talking and working on their keyboards, became essential. Sound masking is the solution, reducing distractions and creating more privacy for conversations by strategically introducing a low-level, continuous sound. This background noise may sound like a soft wind or air circulating through a room.
At Midtown Video, we’re excited to be a part of this changing workforce landscape, helping create inclusive video conferencing spaces where everyone feels like they’re part of the team and contributing equally.
