Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services Inc.—a publicly-traded, diversified financial services company based in Miami, FL—recently turned to systems integrator Midtown Video to upgrade the video conferencing suite at its headquarters. With its large workforce, which is spread out across several U.S. locations, this meeting space is regularly used for video conferencing and meetings to ensure that everyone stays in sync.
The goal of the upgrade, managed by Midtown Video Account Executive Chari Hill, was to replace the suite’s existing proprietary video conferencing hardware with a cost-effective, user-friendly web-based system that supports today’s open, cloud-based meeting and collaboration platforms, and bring-your-own-device (BYOD) environment.
One of the key challenges facing Midtown technicians was the need to transform the functionality of the meeting space without disturbing its pleasing aesthetics and ergonomic layout. For example, since the room’s flat panel monitors are mounted flush to the wall, this did not leave sufficient space for new hardware to be installed behind the monitor, as intended. So, Midtown’s installation team relocated the gear to nearby equipment racks, preserving the original look of the monitor wall.
The Crestron Mercury FLEX all-in-one meeting and collaboration solution—configured with Crestron’s Unified Communications (UC) Engine—was chosen because it satisfies key goals, such as supporting collaboration services like Zoomroom video conferencing and Microsoft Teams. Midtown also installed a user-friendly tabletop AV control console, which they customized with a feature-rich user interface for quick, easy access to video conferencing and meeting options.
As a result, Ladenburg Thalmann now maximizes leading cloud-based conferencing and meeting platforms—where participants can join using their preferred devices—for more productive, real-time, remote group collaboration.
