Hello and welcome! This is the first edition of our new Midtown Crew Spotlight blog! Once a month a Midtown crew member will be sitting down with our social media assistant, Kristina Rodriguez to answer some fun and inspiring questions. This is a 2-3 minute read and will brighten your day.

Employee Spotlight: Rebecca Dominguez, Senior Rental Technician

KR: What is your role at Midtown Video?
RD: Senior Rental Technician

KR: What are three words to best describe Midtown?
RD: Friendly Innovative Support

KR: What was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had, before working at Midtown?
RD: Getting flown out to Texas to cover a professional football benefit/children’s outreach program. I was lucky enough to cover something that matters and travel at the same time.

KR: How has Midtown helped you in your career development?
RD: Advancing my camera knowledge.

KR: What has been your favorite project at Midtown?
RD: Taking photos at Midtown is the highlight of my time here, whether it’s promoting new products, introducing our crew members, or testing out a new camera; I’m in the zone and nothing could make me happier.

KR: What have you gained from working at Midtown?
RD: As a rental technician I have the ability to adapt to multiple camera set ups.

KR: What is your proudest moment at Midtown?
RD: When I understood the process beginning to end of live stream broadcasting.

KR: What advice do you have for prospective Midtown Video candidates?

KR: What is your favorite line from a movie?
RD: Clever girl. – Jurassic Park

KR: What’s the best vacation you’ve ever taken?
RD: Maui

KR: What is your favorite quote?
RD: The only way to predict the future is to invent it.

KR: Who is your favorite late night show host?
RD: I don’t watch any. My bedtime is strictly 10:00 PM.

KR: Do you have an office nickname? What is it?
RD: Becca.

KR: Motto or personal mantra?
RD: C’est la vie.

KR: If your house was burning down, what is the one non-living thing you would save?
RD: My Nikon D5000.

KR: What do you like to do in your spare time?
RD: I like to be close to the water… “She loved the sea, the vastness of the horizons; it made her feel small, but free as well.” ― George R.R. Martin, A Storm of Swords

KR: What did you want to be as a child?
RD: Music Video Director. I got my first still camera in the 2nd grade, and in 5th grade my first Sony Camcorder. I still have those cameras. I would edit videos by playing back from my camera using RCA cables and recording cuts with my VCR. I probably still have those videos.

KR: What is the one thing you can’t live without?
RD: My phone calendar, because organization is the key to saving time and increasing efficiency.

KR: What is your favorite meal?
RD: Seafood. Yum!

KR: What has been the most important innovation or discovery you have witnessed in your lifetime?
RD: Smart phones.

KR: What music is on your playlist?
RD: Country, 90s pop, electric trap, pop, acoustic, classical.

KR: Which one would you want most: flying cars, robot housekeepers or moon cities?
RD: Robot housekeepers

KR: What is the most important thing you have learned in the last five years?
RD: “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.” – Steve Jobs
