Discover Our New Working Showroom Designed for Smarter, More Engaging Video Content
Most organizations wanting better internal video and podcast content need to find the sweet spot between basic webcams and full broadcast infrastructure. Because executive communications demand higher production standards, bridging this technical gap requires thoughtful design and expert execution.
Midtown Video built the Podcast Studio of the Universe inside our Miami headquarters so you can test-drive a real studio before you commit a dollar to your own.
MORE FOR STUDIOS: State-of-the-Art Video Podcast Studio
It’s a Showroom You Can Walk Into
Before you invest in a studio, we want you to stand in one first. Walk through the Podcast Studio of the Universe, and you can see, touch, and test the desk placement, the lighting grid, and the camera angles before a single dollar goes into your own build.
Questions that used to stay theoretical, like why the ceiling needs to be raised or why the desk sits at that particular angle to the corner of the room, get answered on the spot.
The Elements Behind Every Episode
The studio centers on a custom podcast desk built with a furniture manufacturer partner, wired for LED lighting, and fitted with clamps for microphones and mic arms, so you can see exactly how a desk should be built before you order your own.
Lighting runs on both traditional fixtures and Power over Ethernet, which cuts electrical contractor costs and energy use over the life of the space, and our broadcast and cinema lighting directors make sure you look good from any angle. Cameras, lenses, teleprompters, and talent monitors round out the setup, so you can deliver your message with real confidence instead of reading from a laptop screen.
Scaling a Simple Zoom Setup into a Production Suite
Because podcast studios tend to double as shared spaces, we built ours to flex, and you’ll see the same flexibility built into everything we design for you. Walk in and run a quick Zoom call with the same camera, microphone, and lighting the studio uses for a full episode, no crew required. When your production calls for more, a TriCaster steps in as a single-box television studio operation, scaling from a one-person Zoom room up to a multi-camera live production without swapping out the room.
Proof We Practice What We Recommend
We use The Podcast Studio of the Universe ourselves, too, so every recommendation we make gets tested here first. Podcast This!, our weekly show, is designed and executed entirely in the space.
Our camera package proves that you can have a serious podcast setup without starting with a blank check. It can start with the gear you’ve already got. When Midtown closed its rental department in 2019, we kept a stack of Sony PMW-F55 and Canon C500 digital cinema cameras, along with Canon cinema lenses, that now live in the studio.
Inside Access to Guests Who Know The Industry
Podcast This! books guests who are already respected in the AV and broadcast industry, so you’ll gain real insight instead of a sales pitch. Our first episode featured Matt Morgan, who supported Spotify’s podcast studios in Los Angeles, and our second features Chris Nito, an AV industry veteran named the 66th inductee into Commercial Integrator’s Living Legends series.
New episodes stream live weekly, and every conversation gets built, lit, and produced in the studio we’re inviting you to visit.
