University of Miami School of Architecture

The University of Miami School of Architecture needed a new projector and an upgraded Crestron program to operate their AV/IT system in this spectacular auditorium. Midtown Video installed a 10,600 Lumens projector, reprogrammed the Crestron to control the entire audio and video system from the teaching lectern, and rebuilt their solid wood customized podium to house a computer monitor, Crestron touch panel, and other A/V equipment. The Midtown team worked closely with the faculty to maintain the integrity of the building design without compromising the quality of the state-of the art multimedia system.

New Video Wall for Business School at FIU

The College of Business Administration at Florida International University has the latest technology for communicating financial news and upcoming events to their students. Midtown Video designed and installed a LAN controlled NEC –   9 monitor video wall inside the entrance of the Office Depot Student Center.

The video feed is supplied via fiber from the College of Business audio visual control room to the Student Center and the system is equipped with calibration software to achieve exact color space for each individual monitor. The wall continually displays upcoming events, special classes, promotions, real time Wall Street information and stock market reports, as well as other financial news.

The video wall was installed by Midtown’s in house systems integration team on time and in budget. U.S. News & World Report’s “ America’s Best Colleges” ranked the College of Business Administration at FIU undergraduate international business programs #15 in the nation.

Ruiz Television – La Ley Production Studios
La Ley TV is a grassroots television show that offers people access to the law. To fulfill his vision, attorney John H. Ruiz had Midtown design, construct and outfit a television studio on the 2nd floor of a 9-story office building.

The plan was to create a panel of attorneys, experts in real estate, immigration and finance and have them answer live calls and emails regarding legal questions. Midtown’s team of engineers built a control room and studio using state of the art Sony equipment.

Ruiz then came back to Midtown with an ambitious plan to build satellite La Ley studios and connect them back to the main studio using a T1 communications line. These satellite studios, called La Ley Cafes, have an onsite set, remote connections to the main studio, and touch screens. Using top of the line Panasonic equipment, and high-end SDI solutions, the satellite café is remotely connected to the main studio. The café offers live, interactive, town hall meetings on current issues facing the community.

Miami Public Schools State of the Art Production Studios
When it came time to upgrade the Television Production program at 19 Miami High Schools, Miami Dade schools brought Midtown Video onboard to take these high tech television production studios from design to fruition.
Midtown Video, the premier AV/IT systems integrator in South Florida, was awarded the bid to design, supply and install the three-camera production studios, control rooms, distribution center, and edit stations from the Miami-Dade School Board. Midtown engineers worked from the ground up to configure the ideal studio space.
Plans call for each school to have three digital studio cameras complete with tally light, Teleprompters and rolling pedestal tripods; digital control room with character generator, video and audio switchers, monitors and camera control; non linear edit suites; and location production camera packages for students to learn all aspects of production.
In addition, they have capability to feed video and regular station programming into each school’s television network.

Miami –Dade College Auditorium Gets a Makeover
The Miami-Dade College Wolfson campus auditorium audiovisual installation was handled by Midtown Video the first time around and the first step in the refurbishment process was re-installing that original sound system into the newly renovated auditorium/theater.

The new system has nine speakers and there are seventy-two connections around the stage to plug in Microphones. Midtown also installed three custom screens and video projectors that are controlled by a Crestron automated system.
Additionally there is a provision for connecting laptops on the stage and projecting them on three screens. The screens can have either one image or three different images at the same time. Everything is connected and can be controlled from a state-of-the-art control room with a 32 channel audio mixer upstairs and behind the audience.
