Sandbags are used whenever you need extra weight to prevent tipping. You usually “bag” stands, especially when the weight is off center, such as with a heavy Scrim. They help stabilize equipment in windy situations and can counter balance Boom Arm applications. Matthews fills the Sandbags with sanitized sand to prevent algae growth if they get damp.

This is a C Plus Stand with 40 inch arm, gobo head, double riser, and two sliding leg base.

The unique staggered leg design of a C Stand allows it to be nested and placed extremely close to one another on a set. The top 2 legs of the stand are independently adjustable, for extreme ease of placement on a crowded set, or on uneven terrain.
